WHICH TYPE OF CATARACT SURGERY IS GOOD ?

 Many Patients who want to undergo Cataract operation have following FAQs

1. what type of operations are there in cataract surgery and which is the best?

Ans: There are following types of surgeries

A. Small incision surgery - in this special blades are used to do cataract surgery and an opening of 6.5 mm is made in the eye to remove cataract and a new artificial lens implanted.

B. phacoemulsification with foldable IOL implantation - this is called an injection-less, painless, bloodless, suture-less(stitch-less) and bandage-less cataract operation. 2.5mm incision is made in this. smaller the incision faster the recovery

C. MICS(micro incision cataract operation) here essentially above method B is adopted and incision size is only 1.5mm

D. Femtosecond assisted Cataract surgery - In this method 50% work is done by the LASER rest by the Phacoemulsifier equipment.

In my opinion all the methods are good enough in a good surgeon's hands. the methods have been arranged in the order of advancement in science. The price ascends from method A to D (A being the cheapest and D being the costliest
