HOW TO PREVENT DIABETIC COMPLICATIONS TO THE EYES
1. Keep the diabetes under control
2. Keep the associated high BP, high cholesterol and obesity under control
3. Avoid smoking and Alcohol
4. Do Exercises and walking for 45
minutes every day for 5 days in a week.
5. After 5 years of Diabetes, most of
the individuals develop diabetic eye disease by name diabetic retinopathy and
hence once in a year eye check-up is necessary for diabetics.
6. Early diagnosis and management by
your eye specialist are mandatory to avoid serious vision threatening
complications.
7. Periodic retinal (FUNDUS) photographs
and OCT(Optical Coherence Tomography) tests, to check the onset and progression
of diabetic eye disease is recommended
